About Us
Penny has always loved books, reading and writing. As a child, her best present was a book token and even now, she likes nothing better than browsing in a book shop. Writing since she was a child, she found particular success in the world of journalism. She has written numerous features for local press, magazines and national and international papers. In 2005, she started Saron Publishers and moved into the world of publishing, creating a well-received and popular local bi-monthly magazine. Since then, two more magazines have been added to her portfolio. In 2017, the company moved into publishing books. Since the addition of Julie to the team in 2022 as fiction editor, the company has gone from strength to strength. Penny now edits Saron’s non-fiction output, and is meticulous about checking facts, but still finds time to browse those alluring book shops.

A life-long avid reader, Julie began her own writing career over 30 years ago, resulting in 4 highly-acclaimed published novels, numerous published short stories, magazine features and newspaper articles, plays for children and adults, and annual pantomimes. Gaining experience through running a variety of writing workshops and events, her interest in the written word led her to join Saron Publishers 4 years ago as the Fiction Editor. She is passionate about well-written fiction of all genres, except sci-fi and gothic horror novels, and is looking for books that grab the reader sufficiently that they want more when they have finished reading.
